Since 1981, Attorney Deborah Groban Olson has specialized in creating and advising  worker owned companies, including co-ops, ESOPs, EOTs, and direct stock plans and other types of coops (www.esoplaw.com) .She represents sellers, buyers, companies, unions, and trusts. She is admitted to the bar in MI and NH. Olson was Board Chair of the employee owned Once Again Nut Butter, for 10 years, where she facilitated a 3-year process that created an employee participation in 79 types of decisions and dealt with impact of repurchase liability on a mature, successful ESOP company. She is a former chair of the National Center for Employee Ownership. She founded and served from 2007-2019 as Executive Director of the Center for Community Based Enterprise, Inc. (http://www.c2be.org). She is a board member of Circle Pines Center www.circlepinescenter.org (a co-op education and recreation center), its board secretary and former endowment trustee. She is trustee and executive director of the MLG Foundation. A 1976 Order of the Coif graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, she has an AV peer rating from Martindale Hubbell as a preeminent attorney in her field. She has published and taught extensively about employee ownership.
