Event report: USFWC Conference September 9-10

Lots of learning. Members of the Cooperative Professionals Guild, together with SELC fellows, presented a day-long training track at the U.S. Federation of Worker Co-ops Conference on Sep. 9-10, 2022. The track covered foundational legal education and specific tools co-ops can use to increase agency and self-governance. Many members also attended the Cooperative Conversions track organized by the Democracy at Work Institute where we learned open book management and other strategic practices from members of DAWI, Project Equity, the ICA Group and others.

Lots of fun. A conference highlight was getting together IRL once again and meeting many members of the cooperative community for the first time. A good time was had at several gatherings, including the Federation-hosted party at Sunflower Philly on the second night featuring a drag show and a Borinquen band.  Some CPG members were discovered celebrating their harmonic convergence with a shared moment of sonic meditation inspired by Pauline Oliveros, which you can watch here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/vVWd7Jfz97gkoTXu6.
