October Coffee Chat with Prof. Levinson (10/23/2026)

CPG members and subscribers are invited to join CPG's October Chat on Friday, Oct. 23rd at 11am PT/2pm ET.
This month’s member chat, hosted by Prof. Ariana Levinson, will be about how cooperatives can foster economic inclusion for historically marginalized workers and how cooperative structures and practices can challenge (or enforce) internal workplace structural inequality. The jumping off point for the conversation will be Ariana’s recently published article Worker cooperatives, economic inclusion, and structural inequality: U.S. and Italy compared. The article poses two questions for further research and discussion: First, how can Labor & Employment Law and Cooperative Law be designed or interpreted to work in tandem to provide dignified terms and conditions of employment? Second, how can internal industrial relations of worker cooperatives best be structured to challenge rather than enforce structural inequality? Come ready to share your own stories, expertise, and international points of comparison.

Note that if you receive an error message when attempting to register for this event, you may need to renew your CPG membership or subscription.

November Coffee Chat with Prof. Levinson (11/20/2026)

CPG members and subscribers are invited to join CPG's November Chat on Friday, Nov. 20th at 11am PT/2pm ET.

This month’s member chat will be about whether worker cooperatives structurally enable interest based collective bargaining in a manner that traditional entities do not. The discussion will be based on Ariana’s published article Are Union Co-op Labor Negotiations a Win-Win and For Whom? and her work-in-progress article, Union Co-op Labor Negotiations: True Integrative Bargaining. We can discuss many related topics as well, such as potential positive externalities of interest based collective bargaining, such as increasing participation in civic society or addressing rapid technological change, or the USFWC Union Co-op Council Neutrality Campaign. Come ready to participate. Bring your questions about cooperation between the labor and cooperative movements, stories of successful partnerships, or examples of interest based collective bargaining.
